![]() ![]() Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to confirm as well. I will need to do more testing as I just discovered this today by accident. When using steady shot I can shoot at 1/60 and not get those vibrations, and I can still use catalyst browse to stabilize. It seemed to work just fine and I do not see any artifacts. I was surprised when I opened a video I had taken with IBIS on and it gave me the option to stabilize. What I understood when I purchased the a7C was that catalyst browse could NOT stabilize the video when steady shot (IBIS) had been enabled, and the reason for the higher shutter speed was because with steady shot off you will get shock/vibrations while walking if using 1/60 second. The camera does not matter the stabilization stabilization technology is the same across the newest Sony cameras. To prove I am not an armchair critic, here is my demo of gyro stabilization using Catalyst Browse and following all the rules: Content (subjects, or color or exposure) does not matter for this. I understand it is work to create and post videos, but if you really want to understand what is what, it can best be be done by showing what you get. So, let's see if you missed them or if Sony does not know what it is talking about. So if you are walking while shooting, using low shutter speeds and also have stabilization enabled in camera, you supposedly should be seeing some quite visible artifacts. Why don't you post your videos testing gyro stabilization? It does not help very much to just claim "It looked almost like a gimbal." The gyro stabilization works best, for example, at high shutter speeds allegedly. Would be very interesting to hear more input on this. Will probably require a more scientific A/B testing to see how well it is actually working with steady shot activated, but for me it seems to work very well. Much improved from the video with just steady shot alone. I did some walking panning shots of my car with steady shot on and stabilized in catalyst browse at 80% and it looked almost like a gimbal. ![]() I do like that you don't get as much of the vibration effect when walking with a slower shutter speed with steady shot on. Hard to tell if it works better with IBIS turned off, since the video is shakier to begin with. I tried catalyst browse stabilization with and without steady shot activated. My videos were all shot using an a7C in 4k 30p 100mbps. Yes I noticed this as well! Stabilization works in catalyst browse even with steady shot (IBIS) activated. the only thing I'd love to see is some sort of batch processing option since right now having to do each clip will slow down my work flow a good bit. Out of the 30+ clips I shot only one did not allow post stabilization processing and I can't figure out why either same lens same shooting condition.Īnyone figured out the exact requirement to make sure that gyro stabilization is enabled?Īlso when it does work the level of stabilization is great, approaching the level of stabilization I am accustom to see on the latest gopro camera minus the horizon leveling option. I tried using Catalyst Browse to do post stabilization and from what I have read you must disable IBIS in order for this to work however I noticed that at least for me Catalyst stabilization works even on clips with Steady shot enabled. Not sure if that makes a difference.I recently upgraded to the A7C from EOSM and I had been experimenting with various function on the A7C. I can understand why someone might not want to mix gyro stabilization with IBIS, but there doesn't seem to be anything preventing it.Įdited to add: I run CB on a Mac with Big Sur (technically not supported by Sony). ![]() I'm pretty sure it's the same with "active" in-camera stabilization on, but don't have easy access to a clip right now to test. All my 24 and 60fps clips show gyro data. The only clips that do not show as having gyro data are those shot at 120fps. I have tried this before on other clips with the same results. ![]() It previews and exports a stabilized version of the clip without issue. Sigma lens (no lens IS).Ĭatalyst browse shows the clip as having gyro data. All this info is confirmed in metadata shown in CB. Shot with standard "steady shot" in-camera stabilization on. I see this advice in many places, but am not sure if it is accurate. ![]()

![]() What about everyone who has a video of those Olympic performances?īe careful of your assumptions, they may not be accurate. Is everyone who watches those gymnastic performances a pervert? Is anyone who has a "yearbook" of the 1996 "Magnificent 7" Gymnastics team as a collectable "weird". It's no different than watching the Olympics and taking pride in a young gymnast or skater winning a gold medal, a payoff for a lifetime of dedication and effort well beyond what a normal kid deals with in daily life. Rather than sex, the appeal is "watch us learn, watch us succeed, watch us grow", with the fans taking pride in the achievements of the girls. Their view of the girls being sexualized is the same as a protective brother would have for their sister, or a parent would have for their daughter. The appeal of SG to these fans has nothing to do with sex, it has everything to do with an emotional attachment such as that between a elder brother and their young sister, or between a parent and a daughter. because such a thing would never happen while in SG, does a bikini photoshoot, are not happy one of the SG girls was presented in a manner they could be leered over. These fans, when one of the girls, as a model, after leaving SG. SG fans are referenced as "Fukei" for a reason, which means "elder brother, big brother" and are very protective of the SG girls. For most of the SG Fanbase, it would be equally sickening to have such thoughts about the SG girls. ![]() But I do understand those who do and for the most part, especially as it relates to SG, it has nothing to do with a sexual attraction to underage girls, no more so than a parent could be sexually attracted to their own children, which is a sickening thought. Why? Because you automatically assume there is some type of sexual sentiment attached? If that is the case, I'd say that says more about you than it does the owner of the yearbook, who almost certainly does not have any such consideration. ![]() ![]() It was a scary thought, but then Madoka had spoken out against Kyuubey. She was the one refusing to give in already, and thus, the others were siding with her. Sayaka had joined them after some hesitation, since she didn't quite know what to make of it yet. "Have you seen Homura around?" Sayaka took the potato chip Kyouko offered to her, watching the red-haired girl's thoughtful face. "She seems to have gone missing completely. "It is," Kyouko agreed, cocking her head to the side with a troubled face. I’d recommend her even if you don’t have the other girls. Not even Kyuubey can sense her, and he has more than just one body all over the city." "You would think that she would be just as willing as us to go toe to toe with the Walpurgisnacht, but she just vanished to some place. She also has some of the best accessories of any of the Puella Magi. She’s extremely poseable and has a rereshing design for a figma. Looking back, I had alot of fun with Kyoko. Making use of Kyoko’s standard face on her uniform figma! Now that we’ve seen Kyoko, we can take her outside to play! Kyoko! Put Kyubey down, don’t be so mean to the little guy– Here’s where that pinching hand from earlier comes in. Kyubey! Too bad we didn’t get a different Kyubey with all of the girls. It also prevents you from having double spear action.Īnd now for the last of Kyoko’s accessories(which I find quite amusing). Also note that only one spear head is provided, so you’ll have to pop the head off one spear before using the other. Tada! Kyoko’s disjointed spear! Be prepared to twist it around(be careful) to make it look cool and not like a limp monkey tail. The bottoms of the chain pieces are plugged into the gold pieces, and when you’re finished putting them together, it will look like this: To imitate this, pieces of another spear are included. We see in the anime that it is able to break into multiple pieces. The fact that Kyoko uses a spear says alot about her personality.īut there’s more to Kyoko’s spear than meets the eye. Of course we wouldn’t want to forget Kyoko’s weapon which is an intimidating spear! Not only are they unique to Kyoko, they can easily be used with other figmas for all sorts of fun. The special hands are: a hand to hold one of her accessories(which we’ll also get to later), a hand with a box of pocky, and a taiyaki hand. Open, fists, gripping to hold accessories, and a pair of gripping hands without jointed wrists to allow her to hold her weapon(which we will see later). She also has four pairs of hands and three special ones. A second one is provided, but take care not to lose them(especially when opening the box). You have to put the pocky in the face yourself, it’s not hard at all, but the pocky is tiny. The joints in her clothing are awesome as well. Her articulation is much better than Sayaka’s and her colors are rich and anime accurate. Her boots reflect the motif found in the rest of her costume The white ruffles and red overcoat remind me of Santa Claus. The back of her overcoat is jointed to make it pose able. Mine came with the scuff near her stomach. The painting on her collar is OK, even so the contrast it creates is very pretty. Her ponytail is jointed and can be moved up and down, but not side to side. I could not get the stand to fit into her back. Reviewing these pictures really made me appreciate her colors. The box matches the design of the other girl’s boxes except it is red to match Kyoko. Like other figmas, she is manufactured by Max Factory. Kyoko is the fifth of the magical girls to appear in the anime and the fifth to be figmatized in her magical girl costume(behind Madoka,Homura,Mami, and Sayaka). Our subject for today is the fiery redhead Kyoko Sakura from Madoka Magica. ![]() |
